Army Fires at Pakistani Drone near Border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch Region
Mendhar/Jammu: In an incident near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, Army personnel reportedly engaged a Pakistani drone with gunfire on Monday. Officials revealed that the drone briefly entered Indian territory late Sunday night but returned to the Pakistan side after facing shots from the Indian troops.
The movement of the hostile drone was detected in the Nar Mankote area of Mendhar, prompting the troops guarding the LoC to fire at least three rounds in an attempt to bring it down. Despite the firing, the drone managed to retreat to the Pakistan side. A search operation is currently in progress in the affected area.
In light of such incidents, the Jammu and Kashmir police have recently announced a cash reward of ₹3 lakh for individuals providing information about drones originating from across the border. The reward is specifically for those drones involved in dropping narcotics, arms, or explosive materials, leading to the successful recovery of such materials.
