Delhi Metro Announces Restrictions for New Year’s Eve Celebration at Rajiv Chowk Station
No Exit Post 9 PM; Entry Allowed Until Last Train Departure
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) declared that Rajiv Chowk station exit will be closed after 9 PM on December 31 for New Year’s Eve celebrations. However, passengers can continue to enter the station until the last train departure, as specified by DMRC authorities.
Passenger Advisory and Regular Services
DMRC urged commuters to plan their travel accordingly, noting that the rest of the metro network will operate as per its regular timetable. There are no constraints on passenger entry until the final train’s departure from Rajiv Chowk station on New Year’s Eve.
Delhi Police Traffic Advisory
In preparation for New Year’s Eve celebrations, Delhi Police, led by Special Commissioner SS Yadav (CP Traffic), outlined arrangements and personnel deployment in anticipated gathering areas. Notable deployment spots include Connaught Place, India Gate, Aerocity, Qutub Minar, and various other crowded places.
Strict Actions Against Drunk Driving
Special CP (Traffic) SS Yadav emphasized strict actions against drunk driving and inappropriate behavior. He cautioned the public against such actions, reaffirming the police’s commitment to maintaining order and safety during the celebrations.
As New Year’s Eve marks the culmination of the year and ushers in a new beginning, authorities are taking proactive steps to ensure a secure and regulated environment for revelers across Delhi.
