Mizoram Political Update: Lalduhoma, the founder of Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM), took oath as the Chief Minister of Mizoram at Raj Bhavan.

Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati administered the oath of office and secrecy. Lalduhoma had met the Governor earlier, staking claim to form the government in the state.

Addressing the media, Lalduhoma outlined his government’s priorities, emphasizing the focus on buying agricultural products.

He also expressed his commitment to addressing the issue of Myanmar refugees in Mizoram, asserting that they are all Indian citizens.

He mentioned plans to discuss the matter with the Home Minister during his visit to Delhi.

ZPM achieved a landslide victory, winning 27 out of 40 assembly constituencies in Mizoram. Lalduhoma, a former IPS officer and Congress MP, founded ZPM six years ago.

His journey has been marked by a transition from being in charge of Indira Gandhi’s security detail to leading ZPM to a historic win, breaking the traditional power alternation between MNF and Congress in the state.
