Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar paid a solemn visit to the family of Major Aashish Dhonchak, who made the ultimate sacrifice during an encounter in Anantnag. In a gesture of profound respect, Chief Minister Khattar announced a compensation of Rs 50 lakh for Major Dhonchak’s family.
A Promising Officer Remembered
Major Aashish Dhonchak, a young and promising officer, attained the rank of Major in just 11 years of dedicated service. He was not just a brave soldier but also the sole brother to three sisters, making his loss especially poignant. The government has extended its support by providing a compensation of Rs 50 lakh, and Major Dhonchak’s wife will also be offered a government job. The government is committed to preserving his legacy and ensuring his name lives on.
A Heartfelt Tribute
Major Aashish Dhonchak leaves behind a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and his untimely demise has cast a pall of sorrow over his native village. Alongside Major Dhonchak, Colonel Manpreet Singh and Deputy Superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Humayun Bhat, also laid down their lives during the encounter in Anantnag. These brave officers displayed unwavering courage in the line of duty.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, expressed his deep grief over the loss of these officers. He paid his respects to DSP Humayun Bhat during the solemn ceremony in Budgam. The entire nation stands in solidarity with the families of these fallen heroes during this difficult time.
