OnePlus 12 Leak Reveals Wood Texture Finish Ahead of Launch
Ahead of its official launch, a leak has surfaced online showcasing the OnePlus 12 with a distinctive wood texture finish. This new addition to the OnePlus flagship lineup, reminiscent of the OnePlus One Walnut Wood edition, is set to be unveiled during the company’s 10th-anniversary celebration in China on December 4.
Design and Pre-Reservations
The leaked render, shared by well-known tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, hints at a design that closely mirrors the OnePlus One’s Walnut Wood Edition, though with the OnePlus 12’s unique features. The exact materials used for this special wood texture edition are currently unknown, and there’s speculation it could be a wood textured case. However, these details have not been officially confirmed by OnePlus, and caution is advised regarding the accuracy of this leak.
Launch Details and Specifications
The OnePlus 12 launch event is scheduled for December 4 at 7:00pm local time in China, with pre-reservations already open on the company’s official online store and major Chinese e-commerce platforms. The global release is expected to follow in January. This upcoming smartphone is confirmed to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and will feature ColorOS 14 based on Android 14. It’s also touted to be the first handset in China with a 2K resolution display to receive DisplayMate’s A+ certification.
The OnePlus 12 is expected to feature a 6.82-inch QHD+ curved LTPO display, boasting an impressive peak brightness of 2,600 nits. Camera-wise, it will likely include a Sony LYTIA LYT808 primary rear sensor and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. A triple rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 32-megapixel selfie camera are also anticipated.
Battery and Charging Capabilities
For battery life, the OnePlus 12 is rumored to be backed by a 5,400mAh battery, supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, promising fast and convenient charging options.
The OnePlus 12, with its unique wood texture finish and advanced features, is poised to be a significant release in the OnePlus series, following the success of its predecessor, the OnePlus 11 5G.
