iQoo has globally unveiled its latest 12 series on November 7, featuring the iQoo 12 and the iQoo 12 Pro. The base iQoo 12 model is scheduled to launch in India on December 12, with anticipation building around its high-end specifications and features. Although there is no confirmation on the India launch of the Pro variant yet, the iQoo 12 is expected to make a significant impact in the market.

India Launch with Android 14 and Exclusive Availability

The iQoo 12 5G will launch in India with the latest Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14, distinguishing it as the first non-Pixel smartphone in the country to feature Android 14 out-of-the-box. The smartphone will be available exclusively via Amazon and the official iQoo e-store, with its microsite already live on both platforms.

Expected Pricing and Specifications

While the Indian pricing of the iQoo 12 5G is yet to be announced, its Chinese counterpart is priced at CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 45,000) for the 12GB + 256GB variant and CNY 4,299 (about Rs. 50,000) for the 16GB + 512GB model. The premium 16GB RAM + 1TB option is listed at CNY 4,699 (approximately Rs. 53,000). Available in diverse color options including Burning Way, Legend Edition, and Track Version with a BMW Motorsport-inspired finish, the phone is expected to share similar specifications with its Chinese version.

Display and Hardware

The iQoo 12 5G boasts a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1.5K (1,260×2,800 pixels), a high refresh rate of up to 144Hz, and HDR10+ support. Powering the device is an octa-core 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, coupled with an Adreno 750 GPU, mirroring the Chinese version’s configuration.

Camera and Battery

In the camera department, the iQoo 12 5G features a versatile setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto shooter with 100X digital zoom, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. A 16-megapixel front camera caters to selfie enthusiasts. The device is equipped with a robust 5,000mAh battery supporting 120W wired fast charging. Additionally, the phone includes an in-display fingerprint sensor for enhanced security and measures 163.22mm x 75.88mm x 8.10mm, weighing 203 grams.

The iQoo 12 series, particularly the iQoo 12 5G, is set to offer a compelling combination of advanced features and performance, positioned as a strong contender in the premium smartphone segment.
