The Red Magic 9 Pro series has been launched in China, marking a significant addition to the gaming smartphone market. This new lineup from the Chinese phone maker includes the Red Magic 9 Pro and the Red Magic 9 Pro+, both boasting impressive specifications and features tailored for gaming enthusiasts.

Variants and Pricing

The Red Magic 9 Pro’s base model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at CNY 4,399 (approximately Rs. 51,700). Other variants include the 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB configurations, priced at CNY 4,799 (roughly Rs. 57,000) and CNY 5,199 (about Rs. 61,100), respectively.

For the more advanced Red Magic 9 Pro+, prices start at CNY 5,499 (around Rs. 64,600) for the 16GB+256GB model. There are also 16GB+512GB and 24GB+1TB options, priced at CNY 5,799 (approximately Rs. 68,900) and CNY 6,999 (roughly Rs. 83,100), respectively.

Advanced Specifications and Features

Both models of the Red Magic 9 Pro series are dual-SIM (Nano) and run on Red Magic OS 9.0 based on Android 14. They feature a 6.8-inch full-HD+ BOE Q9+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,600 nits. At their core, these phones are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and a dedicated Red Core R2 gaming chip. The Red Magic 9 Pro series is equipped with up to 24TB of LPDDR5x RAM and offers up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage, depending on the model.

A unique feature of these smartphones is their cooling system, which includes a large vapor chamber and an alloy fan with a waterfall air duct. This setup effectively reduces the phone’s temperature by up to 25 degrees Celsius, ensuring optimal performance during intensive gaming sessions.

The camera system on the Red Magic 9 Pro series includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with a Samsung GN5 sensor and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera with a Samsung JN1 sensor. For selfies, there’s a 16-megapixel under-display camera.

Connectivity options are comprehensive, featuring 5G, Wi-Fi 7, and more. The Red Magic 9 Pro has a 6,500mAh battery with 80W fast charging, while the Pro+ variant comes with a 5,500mAh battery and 165W fast charging support. Both models include an under-display fingerprint scanner for secure biometric authentication.
