Ghulam Nabi Azad Advocates for Early Assembly Elections in J&K
Ghulam Nabi Azad, former J&K Chief Minister and chairman of the Democratic Azad Party (DAP), has called for the early conduct of Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing the irreplaceable value of electoral democracy.
Speaking at a large public rally in Neel village of the Banihal constituency, Azad stressed that governance should be in the hands of people’s representatives rather than bureaucrats. He asserted that the people’s faith in electoral democracy is unparalleled, and their representatives are more accessible for addressing local issues.
Azad outlined his vision for Banihal, promising to transform it into an economic powerhouse of Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted his previous contributions to the region’s development, including building hospitals, roads, and colleges, and plans to further boost the local economy through tourism and agriculture.
Commitment to Socio-Economic Development
The DAP leader expressed his commitment to the overall socio-economic development of Banihal, which he holds dear. He plans to make Banihal a prominent tourist hub, thereby enhancing the local economy. Additionally, he promised the establishment of more colleges and hospitals to improve healthcare accessibility and educational standards in the area.
