
5th LAHDC Kargil Elections Scheduled for October 4, 2023
Kargil, Ladakh, September 27, 2023 – In preparation for the upcoming 5th LAHDC Kargil Elections scheduled for October 4, 2023, ADC Kargil (Election Officer) Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani, along with Deputy District Election Officer, Kargil, supervised a comprehensive training session for polling staff at the Auditorium Hall in Kargil.
Ensuring Smooth and Honest Elections
During this session, ADC Kargil briefed the Presiding and Polling Officers on their crucial roles and responsibilities. He emphasized the need to implement all instructions related to polling day meticulously. Additionally, he urged them to carry out their duties with utmost honesty and to maintain coordination with each other, as well as with sectorial and Zonal Magistrates, to ensure the smooth conduct of the elections.
Empowering Polling Staff
The training program encompassed approximately 300 employees from various departments who received essential training related to polling procedures. One of the key aspects covered during the training was the proper handling and operation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Furthermore, the staff members were thoroughly briefed on the duties assigned to Presiding Officers and Polling Officers.

Detailed Deliberations for Effective Execution
Throughout the training program, in-depth discussions were held on a variety of topics essential for the successful conduction of the elections. These included procedures for conducting mock polls, handling tender votes, maintaining a poll diary, sealing election papers, and properly securing EVMs, among other critical aspects.
As Ladakh gears up for the 5th LAHDC Kargil Elections, such training sessions are crucial in ensuring the efficient and transparent conduct of the electoral process.
