To ensure the smooth conduction of the 2nd Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls-2024, a series of training sessions for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and supervisors was held today in district Kishtwar under the overall supervision of District Election Officer DEO Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav,IAS. The maiden session was presided over by ERO 49-Kishtwar/ADC Kishtwar, Pawan Kotwal,JKAS with all BLOs from the 49-Kishtwar Assembly Constituency (AC) in attendance.
Following this, a session for the BLOs of the 48-Inderwal AC was led by ERO 48-Inderwal/ACR Kishtwar, Idrees Lone,JKAS here at Conference Hall DC Office Complex Kishtwar.
Additionally, a similar training session was conducted for the 50-Paddar Nagseni constituency, spearheaded by ERO 50-Paddar Nagseni AC, SDM Amit Kumar,JKAS at SD headquarters Paddar.ADC Kishtwar besides other EROs and AERos during the training session emphasized the crucial role of BLOs and supervisors at the ground level for the summary revision of electoral rolls.
The BLOs were informed that the summary revision of Photo Electoral Rolls of Legislative Assemblies is scheduled from 25-07-2024 (Thursday) to 09-08-2024 (Friday), encompassing all three Legislative Assemblies Viz 48-Inderwal, 49-Kishtwar and 59-Nagseni Paddar of district Kishtwar.
The BLO’s were directed to facilitate the special camps at their respective polling stations on 27-07-2024,28-07-2024,03-08-2024 and on 04-08-2024 for the convenience of electorals.
The qualifying date for new voters attaining age of 18 years is 1st July 2024 and disposal of claims and objections is set for 19-08-2024 (Monday), with the final publication of Electoral Rolls on 20-08-2024 (Tuesday).EROs during training session urged the concerned BLOs and Supervisors to coordinate teams for completing the summary revision, which includes the addition of new voters, addressing omissions, and eliminating duplicate entries, all before the assigned deadline.
During these training sessions, the BLOs and supervisors were apprised of the legal aspects of electoral rolls, documentation, ordinary residence aspects, and the technical aspects of the BLO Net app.EROs also stressed the role and responsibilities of BLOs in the rationalization of the polling stations in the Kishtwar District and addressing other critical issues like distribution of EPIC Cards etc. as per the guidelines issued by ECI.
Besides, the BLOs and Supervisors were apprised about various aspects regarding the summary revision of electoral rolls, including the proposals for rationalization of polling stations by 1st July 2024.Furthermore, the EROs emphasized to the BLOs and supervisors the significance of raising awareness under SVEEP campaign among eligible new voters to ensure no deserving individual is inadvertently left out of the process.
