In the aftermath of a terrorist ambush that resulted in the martyrdom of four soldiers in Poonch, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha asserted on Tuesday that the Union Territory’s residents cannot be intimidated by a mere 20-25 terrorists.

Speaking at an event commemorating Veer Bal Diwas in Jammu, the LG emphasized that concerted efforts are underway to disrupt the prevailing peace in Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing the gathering, he declared, “Terrorists cannot instill fear in the people of Jammu and Kashmir. It is imperative for society to unite against such elements. The nation is committed to fostering peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir. It is now time to collectively stand against these disruptors; a small group of 20-25 terrorists cannot intimidate the people of J&K.”

Emphasizing the need for the eradication of terrorism and its supporting ecosystem, Sinha conveyed that the Union Territory is progressing under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.

The LG’s remarks followed a terrorist attack on two Army vehicles in Poonch on December 21, resulting in the tragic loss of four soldiers’ lives. Sinha also paid homage to the Sahibzades, the four sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, on the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas.

In a previous post on X, the LG had lauded the Sahibzades as the “epitome of courage, bravery, and sacrifice,” highlighting their unwavering commitment to their faith and values. On Veer Bal Diwas, he expressed his humble tributes, stating, “On the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas, my humble tributes to the Sahibzades, the epitome of courage, bravery, and sacrifice. The unwavering strength of Mata Gujri ji & Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaj inspire all of us to uphold the unity and integrity of the nation.”

It is noteworthy that last year, on the Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi designated December 26 as ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ to commemorate and honor the sacrifices of the “Sahibzade,” the four sons of Guru Gobind Singh.
