News18
In a tragic and unsettling incident, a 15-year-old student in Pune died by suicide on Friday night, July 26, and subsequent police investigation unveiled a disturbing level of premeditation. The young boy had been meticulously planning his own death, the discovery of which made by local police, raising alarm among parents and guardians. Authorities were stunned when they uncovered a detailed plan of the boy’s death among his personal belongings. The plan, documented in a notebook, outlined various steps and methods that the boy intended to use. Tragically, his actions followed his plan, leading to his death.
The Class 10 student died after falling from the 14th floor of his apartment building in Pune’s Pimpri-Chinchwad area. Police officers discovered a suicide note at the scene, along with a detailed, handwritten plan outlining the method and location of the intended act. The plan included precise steps, accompanied by sketches of the apartment layout and instructions for the jump.
In addition to the drawing, officers discovered several papers written in a gaming code, which appeared to reflect the student’s interests or emotional state. This unsettling find shocked both the police and the community, underscoring the urgent need for parents to be vigilant about their children’s activities and mental health.
The mother of the deceased is an engineer, and the father works abroad. The victim lived with his mother and younger brother, while his father was in Nigeria. His mother informed the police that he had developed an addiction to online gaming and would spend the entire day engrossed in these games. He also remained confined to his room all day.
The mother revealed that a few days prior to the incident, he was even playing with a knife for the game. On July 25, he remained locked in his room throughout the day, emerging only at night to eat before returning inside. His mother was catering to his younger brother who was ill with a fever at that time.
At midnight, a message appeared in the society’s WhatsApp group reporting that a child had fallen from the building. When the mother went to check his room, he was missing. She found him downstairs in the parking lot, where he had succumbed to his injuries before emergency services could arrive.
This case has sparked concern about the activities and interactions of young people. It highlights the importance of monitoring children’s behaviour and emotional well-being closely. The police advised that such behaviours should be closely monitored to prevent tragic outcomes.
