Current Weather: Generally cloudy with light rain/snow at few places, and a significant improvement in minimum temperature at many stations.

28th-29th Jan: Possibility of light to moderate rain/snow at many places in J&K, with heavy snowfall over isolated higher reaches of Kashmir Division (Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Shopian, Anantnag, and Kulgam districts) during 28th afternoon to 29th late afternoon.
30th-31st Jan: Possibility of light to moderate rain/snow at many places in J&K, with chances of heavy snowfall over a few higher reaches as mentioned above.
1st-2nd Feb: Generally cloudy with light rain/snow at many places towards late afternoon/evening.
3rd-4th Feb: Possibility of light to moderate rain/snow at many places in J&K.
Possibility of intermittent light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning in plains of Jammu Division, with light snowfall over higher reaches and moderate snowfall over isolated higher reaches during 28th night to 31st Jan (afternoon).

The system may lead to temporary closure of roads in higher reaches and important passes like Sinthan pass, Mughal Road, Sadhna & Razdan pass, Zojila, etc., particularly during 28-31st Jan.
Travelers are advised to plan accordingly.
Farmers are advised to withhold irrigation and fertilizer application and drain out excess water from orchards and fields during the above-mentioned period.
A significant drop in day temperature during the above period is expected.
