Zepp Health, the parent company of Amazfit, unveiled Zepp OS 4 on Tuesday, integrating OpenAI’s latest AI model GPT-4o and introducing several new features. This update brings voice command capabilities, personalized wellness features, and enhanced messaging and Bluetooth integration to supported Amazfit wearables. Currently, Zepp OS 4 is available for the Amazfit Balance and Amazfit Active smartwatches, with support for the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra, Falcon, and Cheetah series coming later this year.

Zepp OS 4 Highlights
The new operating system aims to improve the functionality of Amazfit smartwatches with GPT-4o integration, enhancing the devices’ ability to offer useful responses and personalized wellness solutions. One major feature is the addition of voice commands to Zepp Flow, allowing users to control their devices with natural language interactions. This includes managing settings, replying to WhatsApp messages, and initiating Bluetooth phone calls by voice. Currently, WhatsApp integration is available only on Android, with iOS support expected later this year.

Additionally, Zepp OS 4 leverages GPT-4o’s AI capabilities to provide verbal responses, eliminating the need for users to read replies on the display. The OS currently supports English and German, with French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese languages to be added later this month.

Enhanced Bluetooth and New Mini Apps
Zepp OS 4 also brings improved Bluetooth capabilities, allowing users to control compatible devices such as speakers, cycling meters, and GoPro cameras directly from their smartwatch. Moreover, new mini apps have been added to the app store, designed to assist users during outdoor activities and sports.

Personalized Wellness Solutions
The AI capabilities of GPT-4o are further utilized to enhance personalized wellness solutions. Zepp Aura now supports AI-driven sleep guidance, while Zepp Coach offers real-time fitness coaching. Zepp Health promises regular updates to expand the capabilities of the Zepp ecosystem.
