Xiaomi Global Launch: Xiaomi 14 Series Premieres on Feb 25, Spotlight on Ultra Model with Titanium Edition
Xiaomi is set to unveil its Xiaomi 14 series globally on February 25, just a day before the commencement of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. The focal point of the event is anticipated to be the introduction of the highly anticipated Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Although the brand has not officially acknowledged the existence of this phone, recent reports suggest that a Titanium special edition of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is in the works.
In China, Xiaomi has a tradition of offering special editions of its phones, and a report by 91Mobiles indicates that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will follow suit with a Titanium special edition. While the standard variants of the phone are expected to feature metal frames to maintain competitive pricing, the Titanium special edition is likely to bring a touch of premium quality to the device. Notably, Xiaomi has previously introduced a Titanium Edition for the Xiaomi 14 Pro, featuring a matte titanium alloy side.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is rumored to be available in three storage configurations in China: 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB. Separately, the global variant of the vanilla Xiaomi 14 has been spotted on the EMVCo certification website, revealing some key details. According to the listing, the handset will come with Android 14-based HyperOS 1.0 and NFC support.
The global launch event is scheduled to take place on February 25 in Barcelona, where Xiaomi initially unveiled the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro handsets in China last October. These smartphones, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and equipped with a HyperOS interface, debuted with an initial price tag of CNY 3,999 (approximately Rs. 50,000) and CNY 4,999 (approximately Rs. 56,500), respectively.
Both the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro feature LTPO OLED displays boasting up to 2K resolution and a 120Hz dynamic refresh rate. The devices showcase a Leica-tuned triple rear camera setup, offer up to 16GB of RAM, up to 1TB of storage, and possess an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The Xiaomi 14 Pro houses a 4,880mAh battery with 20W charging support and 50W wireless charging, while the Xiaomi 14 is equipped with a 4,610mAh battery supporting 90W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W wireless reverse charging.
