Kilhotran, March 9, 2023 – The International Women’s Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at Government Degree College Kilhotran, where a dynamic series of events unfolded under the theme “Women Fit toh India Hit Movement” and the impactful “Bleed Red Campaign.”
Dr Javid Iqbal, Principal GDC Kilhotran, took the stage to inspire students, urging them to actively engage in activities promoting both physical and mental well-being.

The highlight of the celebration was the “Women Fit toh India Hit Programme,” a collaborative effort between the National Service Scheme (NSS) and Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK). Dr Mohd Aslam Rather, Head of the Chemistry Department and NSS Unit at GDC Kilhotran, inaugurated the program, emphasizing the significance of fitness and health among women and girls.
Students Azhar Khan and Arpana Devi, campus ambassadors, led the event, with participants Saima and Shahida sharing their perspectives on the benefits of the fitness initiative. The day featured a spirited running competition, won by Romika Mahas, highlighting the college’s commitment to promoting physical well-being.
The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Muzammil Mustafa, a 4th-semester student, expressing gratitude to all contributors for making the event a success.

Another focal point of the day was the “Bleed Red Campaign,” a blood donation drive organized by GDC Kilhotran in association with the Bleed Red initiative. The campaign aimed to instill a sense of responsibility among students and staff, encouraging them to contribute to saving lives through blood donation.
