Tehran, March 5 – More than 1,000 people have been killed in the first five days of US-Israeli military operations against Iran, according to Iranian state media, as the conflict continues to escalate across the region.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned of “terrorist movements” along the country’s border with Iraq during a call with a leader of the Iraqi-Kurdish political parties. Meanwhile, the majority of the US Senate has expressed support for President Donald Trump’s ongoing military campaign against Iran, despite growing concerns from Democratic lawmakers. Critics have warned that the United States could be entering a ground conflict with Iran, leading to “an open-ended engagement with no end in sight.”

On the Lebanese front, Israel carried out fresh airstrikes on southern suburbs of Beirut, while Hezbollah reported clashes with Israeli forces in southern Lebanon. The situation continues to exacerbate humanitarian concerns in both countries.
