UPSRTC Honoured with National Awards
The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Department (UPSRTC) has been honoured with three prestigious national awards by the Association of State Road Transport Undertaking (ASRTU) in New Delhi, recognizing the positive impact of road safety and transportation efforts by the Uttar Pradesh government.
Recognition of Excellence
The awards, known as the Public Transport Excellence Awards, are bestowed upon institutions that meet prescribed conditions in various categories. UPSRTC has emerged as the winner in two categories, namely Road Safety and Fuel Efficiency, while also securing a runner-up award in New Initiatives.
Additional Managing Director Pranatha Aishwarya represented the Transport Corporation to receive these accolades. Chief Principal Manager Technical Rajeev Anand and GM IT Yuzvendra Singh also graced the event.
Government Support and Modernization
The Uttar Pradesh government’s allocation of Rs 500 crore in the previous fiscal year, along with a similar allocation for the upcoming fiscal year, demonstrates its commitment to modernizing the Transportation department. With this support, UPSRTC aims to strengthen itself, upgrade its bus fleet, and enhance bus stations to meet high standards.
In February, UPSRTC underwent a remarkable digital transformation, leveraging advanced technological capabilities to improve citizen-centric services across the state. The comprehensive revamp of the UPSRTC portal aims to establish a robust data-driven ecosystem within an integrated technological framework.
Enhanced Passenger Experience
The initiative includes the provision of online bus timetables for all routes, granting passengers convenient access to schedules and optimizing travel experiences while minimizing congestion. Real-time monitoring of vehicle movements and online surveys to gauge passenger preferences further enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
Capacity Building Initiatives
To ensure effective utilization of the portal, comprehensive training and capacity-building initiatives will be implemented to equip stakeholders with the necessary skills and knowledge.
UPSRTC’s recognition and ongoing efforts underscore its commitment to excellence and innovation in public transportation, contributing to the overall development and welfare of the state.
