    In the aftermath of the Uttar Pradesh police constable recruitment examination cancellation due to alleged question paper leaks, the state government has taken swift action by removing the chairperson of the UP Police Recruitment Board, Renuka Mishra. The government has appointed IPS officer Rajeev Krishna as her replacement.

    Background: UP Police Constable Recruitment Exam Scandal

    The UP police constable recruitment examination, which witnessed the participation of over 48 lakh candidates on February 17 and 18, faced serious allegations of a question paper leak. Subsequently, on February 24, the state government decided to cancel the examination, promising a re-examination within six months. In addition, a Special Task Force (STF) has been assigned to investigate the allegations of the paper leak.

    Government’s Response and Chief Minister’s Assurance

    Reacting to the scandal, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the non-negotiable sanctity of examinations and pledged strict action against those compromising the hard work of aspirants. The government’s decisive measures aim to maintain the integrity of the recruitment process, reassuring candidates and the public at large.
