
Minister Highlights the Importance of Cleanliness and Good Health
Union Minister Anurag Thakur inaugurated the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 3.0 with great determination in Deotsidh of Hamirpur district in Himachal Pradesh. The event began with a pledge administered by the Minister, stressing the collective responsibility to maintain cleanliness in our surroundings, involving NCC, NSS, and NYKS volunteers.
Director of NYKS, Himachal Pradesh, Ira Prabhat, welcomed the participants, setting the tone for a day of impactful initiatives. Anurag Thakur expressed gratitude for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unwavering vision and commitment to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which has led to remarkable achievements such as the construction of 12 crore toilets in the past three years and ensuring that no girl has to leave school due to a lack of toilets.
Thakur waved the green flag to officially launch Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 3.0 in Deotsidh, Hamirpur district. Volunteer groups, including NSS, NCC, and NYKS, joined together to spread out to nearby areas, ready to embark on the cleanliness drive, embodying the true essence of Swachhata Hi Seva.

The Minister also visited Gautam Girls College, Hamirpur, where he inaugurated an exhibition by the Central Bureau of Communication, Hamirpur Unit, showcasing the government’s remarkable achievements and various welfare schemes. The exhibition featured panels dedicated to “9 Years of Seva, Sushasan, and Garib Kalyan” and “Welfare schemes,” shedding light on India’s journey to independence, details of various schemes, and developmental stories in Himachal Pradesh.
Addressing the youth at the Zila Yuva Utsav, Thakur inspired them to outperform their past achievements, emphasizing personal growth and self-improvement.
He encouraged them by saying, “Growth is not about competing with others but about competing with your own self. You have to strive to make yourself better each day.”
The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan continues to inspire and mobilize communities to prioritize cleanliness and hygiene for a healthier and more prosperous India.
