Union Minister Anurag Thakur Accuses Congress of Making False Guarantees
Union Minister Anurag Thakur didn’t mince words as he criticized the Congress party for what he described as dishonesty and false promises in states like Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh. Speaking at a press briefing in Bhopal, Thakur lambasted the Congress, calling them the biggest ‘thug’ and asserting that their guarantees had failed in the states they governed.
Congress’ Unfulfilled Promises in Himachal Pradesh
Thakur highlighted the unfulfilled promises made by the Congress in Himachal Pradesh. One such promise was to provide Rs 1500 per month to women in the state, but over 22.5 lakh women have been waiting for this assistance for the past 10 months. Despite pledging to address this issue in the first cabinet meeting, the Congress failed to deliver on their guarantee.
Another unmet commitment was the promise of providing employment to 1 lakh youths. Thakur pointed out that the Congress couldn’t even create jobs for 1,000 young people, exposing their lack of transparency and credibility in Himachal Pradesh and other states.
Congress’ Performance Under Scrutiny Ahead of Madhya Pradesh Elections
As Madhya Pradesh prepares for upcoming elections, the Congress party’s performance is under scrutiny. The state will go to the polls on November 17, with the results to be announced on December 3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier criticized the Congress, emphasizing their reliance on empty promises. He remarked that the party lacks a clear development plan for Madhya Pradesh and accused their leaders of being theatrical in their announcements.
PM Modi also announced the extension of the free ration scheme for the poor for five more years. The scheme, known as the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, has been providing free foodgrains to over 81 crore people in India for the last three years. The Prime Minister’s decision to extend the scheme showcases the government’s commitment to supporting those in need.
