
Unidentified Male Body Recovered from Chenab River in Doda
Doda, Apr 5: An unidentified male body was recovered from the Chenab River near Premnagar in Doda on Saturday morning, officials said.
According to information received by the PCR Doda around 11:30 am, locals had spotted a body floating in the river, prompting an immediate response.
A rescue team from the SDRF Doda was rushed to the spot. Using standard rescue procedures, the team retrieved the body from the river after a brief operation.
Officials said the body was later handed over to local police for identification and completion of legal formalities.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of the Deputy Superintendent of Police, DAR-cum-Deputy Controller Civil Defence and SDRF Doda.
Further investigation into the identity and cause of death is underway.
