UN Probe Awaits Israeli Intelligence on UNRWA Allegations
Israel has not yet submitted intelligence documents to the UN investigation regarding its claims that approximately a dozen UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) staff were involved in the Hamas-led October 7 attacks, as reported by DPA news agency.
UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric stated that the UN’s Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) is in the process of seeking additional information, with expectations of receiving materials from Israeli authorities shortly.
The OIOS investigation commenced a month ago.
Several countries, including the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Sweden, suspended funding to UNRWA based on these Israeli allegations.
Palestinian officials have accused Israel of manipulating information to discredit UNRWA.
