Morkel’s Departure from PCB
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is in the process of finding a new bowling coach following the departure of Morne Morkel. The former South African fast bowler, who had signed a contract with the PCB through the 2023 World Cup, has decided to end his tenure prematurely. This decision comes in the wake of Pakistan’s cricket team’s underwhelming bowling performance in the recent World Cup.
Umar Gul as Potential Successor
Former Pakistani fast bowler Umar Gul has emerged as a strong candidate for the bowling coach position. Gul, renowned for his cricketing skills, has previously stepped in as a temporary coach, notably during Pakistan’s series against Afghanistan when Morkel was unavailable.
Preparation for Australia Test Series
The Pakistan cricket team is now gearing up for an upcoming Test series against Australia. A training camp is scheduled to start on November 20, aimed at preparing the team for this significant challenge. The selection of a new bowling coach is expected to be a pivotal part of this preparation, as the PCB aims to enhance the team’s bowling strategies and performance.
