
Udhampur Ramnagar Accident: 12 Casualties Confirmed So far, Rescue op On
UDHAMPUR, Apr 20 (VoM News): As VoM News earlier reported the horrific accident in Udhampur district, new details available with VoM News reveal that at least 12 people were killed and several others injured after a passenger bus overturned on the Ramnagar–Udhampur highway near Kaghote in Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, as per officials.
The bus, en route from Ramnagar to Udhampur, reportedly skidded off the road, according to reports.
As per local media agency KNC, a senior police official confirmed the fatalities, stating that 12 passengers have lost their lives so far, while several others sustained injuries in the accident.
Soon after the incident, police teams, rescue personnel, and locals rushed to the spot, and a rescue operation was launched. DIG Udhampur Shiv Kumar Sharma also reached the spot to oversee the rescue and relief operations.
The injured are being shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, whereas authorities said further details, including the exact cause of the accident, are not yet known.
