A Heartbreaking Incident Sheds Light on the Pressure Faced by Aspiring Students
In a tragic incident, a 16-year-old NEET (National Eligibility Entrance Test) aspirant from Jharkhand took her own life in her hostel room in the Vigyan Nagar area of Kota, Rajasthan. The young girl, identified as Richa Sinha, was preparing diligently for the NEET examination.
The Grim Discovery
Richa Sinha was found hanging in her hostel room late on Tuesday. The police were informed of her death around 10.30 pm from a private hospital where she was rushed after being discovered. Richa Sinha hailed from Ranchi, Jharkhand, and was a Class 11 student enrolled in a coaching institute in Kota, where she had come earlier this year.
Investigation Underway
According to authorities, no suicide note was found in her room, leaving investigators to delve into the possible reasons behind her tragic decision. The body has been sent for post-mortem at MBS Hospital.

This heartbreaking incident highlights the immense pressure and stress faced by students aspiring to succeed in competitive exams, often exacerbated by the demanding coaching environment. It is a stark reminder of the importance of providing emotional and mental support to students during their formative years.

Sadly, Richa Sinha’s case is not an isolated one. It marks the 23rd suicide by a coaching institute student in Kota this year, with 15 similar cases reported last year. These incidents underscore the urgency of addressing the mental health and well-being of students and reinforcing the need for a more holistic approach to education.
