Tragic Bus Accident in Nepal Claims Lives of 12, Including Two Indian Nationals
In a tragic road accident in the Dang District of mid-western Nepal, at least 12 people have lost their lives, including two Indian nationals. The accident occurred when a passenger bus en route to Kathmandu from Nepalgunj veered off a bridge and plunged into the Rapti River overnight at Bhalubang on Friday.
Ujjwal Bahadur Singh, Chief Inspector of Police at the Area Police Office, Bhalubang, confirmed the identities of only eight passengers, which include the two Indian nationals. The Indians were identified as Yogendra Ram (67) from Bihar and Mune (31) from Uttar Pradesh.
An additional 22 passengers sustained injuries in the tragic accident. The bodies of the deceased have been taken to Lamahi Hospital for postmortem, and further details are awaited. This incident is a somber reminder of the dangers and consequences of road accidents, emphasizing the need for road safety measures to prevent such tragedies.
