The stampede occurred at the university’s open-air auditorium, where the annual festival was being held. As unexpected rain began, attendees rushed for shelter, leading to the tragic event.
Singer Nikhita Gandhi Devastated by the Incident
Nikhita Gandhi, known for hits like ‘Burj Khalifa’ and ‘Qaafirana’, was scheduled to perform at the event. She expressed her grief and shock on Instagram, extending her prayers to the families of the victims.
Casualties and Ongoing Treatment
In addition to the four fatalities, over 60 students were injured and are currently receiving medical attention at various hospitals, including Kalamassery Medical College Hospital. Four students are reportedly in critical condition.
