Three Children Die Suddenly in Rajouri, Leaving Community in Shock
The sudden deaths of multiple children from the same household in the Badhal area of Tehsil Khawas, Rajouri district, have left the community in shock and fear. Tragedy struck the family of Muhammad Rafiq, a resident of Badhal Panchayat Circle B Morra Shatroon, when his three children fell gravely ill.
Rafiq’s seven-year-old daughter, Nazia Kausar, was the first to succumb to an illness that began with mild fever. Following her death, her two brothers, 12-year-old Muhammad Ashfaq and 10-year-old Ishtiaq Ahmed, were rushed to the Community Health Center (CHC) in Kandi Kotarinka in critical condition. As their health deteriorated further, they were referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri.
Tragically, Ishtiaq Ahmed died while being transported to GMC Jammu for advanced care. This incident is part of a disturbing series of mysterious deaths in the area over the past month.
On December 7, three members of another family reportedly died of suspected food poisoning in the same locality. A mother and her child, who were under treatment at GMC Jammu, also succumbed, with the child passing away this afternoon. The death toll in the area has now climbed to seven.
The string of deaths has sparked panic among residents, who are demanding urgent intervention from authorities. Locals have called on the Lieutenant Governor’s administration and the District Development Commissioner of Rajouri to dispatch a high-level health team to investigate the cause of these unexplained deaths and take corrective measures to prevent further loss of life.
