Stranger Things Tops JustWatch’s India TV Streaming Charts, Eko Dominates Film Rankings
Stranger Things has reclaimed the top spot on India’s TV streaming charts, according to the latest data from JustWatch. The Netflix series ranked number one among the most-watched TV shows in the country during the tracking period, reaffirming its strong appeal with Indian viewers.
Trailing closely at number two is Jujutsu Kaisen, highlighting the growing mainstream popularity of anime in India. Once a niche genre, anime now competes with major international franchises, capturing the attention of younger audiences eager for animated storytelling.
Netflix continues to hold a dominant position across the TV chart. The German sci-fi thriller Dark claimed the third spot, demonstrating the platform’s ability to maintain interest in global titles over time. Multiple appearances of the Netflix logo throughout the list underscore the service’s influence in India’s streaming ecosystem.
The rest of the Top 10 shows a mix of international and Indian content. The Rookie ranked fourth, followed by the Indian series Gyaarah Gyaarah at number five. From came in sixth, while Pluribus held seventh place, streaming on Prime Video and Apple TV+. Overflow was eighth, Game of Thrones ninth, and His & Hers closed out the list at number ten, marking another Netflix entry.
On the film side, Netflix also leads the charts, with Eko topping the Top 10, and five of the ten most-watched films streaming on the platform. Indian cinema dominates the rankings, with nine out of ten films produced locally, highlighting the enduring popularity of regional and homegrown stories over international releases.
The rankings, based on JustWatch Streaming Charts for India from January 5 to January 11, reflect a diverse and evolving streaming market. Viewers are balancing a love for global hits with a growing appetite for anime and Indian cinema, signaling a maturing and varied landscape for streaming content in the country.
