Sri Lankan Foreign Minister’s Visit to Nepal for Joint Commission Meeting Confirmed
The Sri Lankan Foreign Minister is set to visit Nepal on December 20 to participate in the Nepal-Sri Lanka Joint Commission meeting, as confirmed by sources from the foreign ministry reported by ANI. The Nepali officials revealed that Sabry, the Sri Lankan Foreign Minister, will remain in the Nepali capital until Friday, December 25, specifically for the joint commission meeting.
The joint commission meeting between Nepal and Sri Lanka has been scheduled for December 21 and 22, where discussions on various issues will take place. Following the conclusion of the meeting, Sabry will return to Colombo.
In advance of this engagement, Sudarshana Pathirana, the Sri Lankan envoy to Nepal, paid a courtesy call to the Nepali Foreign Minister, updating Nepal on the discussion topics and the preparatory measures undertaken for the impending visit.
Subsequently, Dr. S Jaishankar, the Indian Minister for External Affairs, is also slated to visit Kathmandu for the joint commission meeting.
The official mentioned that the specific dates for the Indian Foreign Minister’s visit would be announced by the end of this month. Preparations for the Indian Foreign Minister’s visit, scheduled for the first week of January, are nearly finalized, as informed by the official.
