Innovators from SKUAST-K Stand Tall
Two exceptional innovators, Owais Ali Wani and Bushra Naaz, hailing from the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), have proudly secured the top two positions at the esteemed National Agri Innovation Contest held in Bhatinda, Punjab. Their groundbreaking contributions were celebrated at the innovation contest organized by the renowned Baba Farid School of Entrepreneurship in collaboration with Startup Punjab, Government of Punjab.
Rising Above the Rest
The event saw an overwhelming response, with a total of 112 applications pouring in from all corners of the country. The rigorous selection process culminated in 18 exceptional finalists, and remarkably, six of them represented SKUAST-K. This achievement is a testament to the exceptional talent incubated at SKUAST-K’s Innovation, Incubation, and Entrepreneurship Centre.

The awards ceremony witnessed the esteemed presence of the Director of School of Entrepreneurship, Startup Punjab, and the distinguished jury panel. Professor Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-K, expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the dynamic young innovators and their dedicated mentors for adding a new feather to the university’s cap. Additionally, he praised the significant contributions of Professor Haroon R Naik, Director of Planning & Monitoring at SKUAST-K, and Naveed Hamid, Chief Executive Officer of SKIIEC, in nurturing and fortifying the vibrant Innovation, Incubation, and Startup ecosystem at the university.
