Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has assured that the situation is under control following a tragic collision between two passenger trains near Vizianagaram district in Andhra Pradesh. He confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reviewed the situation and reported on the ongoing rescue efforts.Vaishnaw stated, “Rescue operations are underway, all have been rescued, and teams have been mobilized. PM Modi has reviewed the situation. I spoke to the Andhra Pradesh CM. The situation is currently under control.
Tragic Train Collision in Andhra Pradesh
The collision between two passenger trains resulted in the loss of at least six lives and left several others injured. The incident occurred when the Visakhapatnam-Ragada passenger train collided with a Visakhapatnam-Ragada train traveling on the same route in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram district.

Immediate Relief Measures Ordered
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken swift action by ordering immediate relief measures. He directed the dispatch of as many ambulances as possible from Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli, the nearest districts of Vizianagaram. Furthermore, he instructed arrangements to be made at nearby hospitals to ensure that injured individuals receive quality medical care.
Coordination among various government departments, including health, police, and revenue, has been initiated to facilitate prompt relief measures and medical services for the injured.The railways have not yet provided a reason for the accident, and further investigations are expected to shed light on the circumstances leading to the collision.
