Signia Launches HearTheChange Campaign to Combat Hearing Loss Stigma
In a bid to address the stigma surrounding hearing loss and advocate for universal ear and hearing care, Signia, the global leader in hearing aid technology, has kicked off a month-long awareness campaign. Aligned with the theme of this year’s World Hearing Day, “Changing mindsets: Let’s make ear and hearing care a reality for all,” Signia is spearheading efforts in India to tackle untreated hearing loss, which often remains unreported due to a lack of awareness and societal stigma.
Empowering India with #HearTheChange Campaign
Signia’s 30-day campaign, centered around #HearTheChange, comprises a range of initiatives, including educational programs, social media campaigns, and community outreach. Avinash Pawar, CEO and MD of WS Audiology India, emphasized the societal misconceptions surrounding hearing aids and the campaign’s goal of breaking down that stigma in India.
Breaking Stereotypes and Fostering Understanding
By challenging stereotypes and fostering a culture of acceptance, Signia aims to create a world where wearing a hearing aid is as normal as wearing spectacles. Avinash envisions a society where there is no stigma or hesitation associated with seeking help for hearing issues. The campaign seeks to bring together various stakeholders, including social groups, celebrities, corporates, NGOs, health organizations, and the media, to raise awareness and break barriers preventing individuals from seeking assistance.
Inspiring Stories and Complimentary Ear Check-ups
As part of the campaign, Signia plans to share inspiring stories of individuals who have overcome hearing stigma through modern hearing aid technology. Complimentary ear check-up camps will be organized at over 180 centers, promoting accessibility. Signia encourages online registration and provides support through a toll-free number. The campaign also includes special offers on hearing aids, underscoring Signia’s commitment to making hearing care accessible to all.
Follow the #HearTheChange movement on social media to become a #HearTheChange Saathi and contribute to making a difference in the lives of millions worldwide.
