Sharjah Booksellers Conference Returns
Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), has announced April 27-28 as the dates for the third edition of the International Booksellers Conference. The event, organized by the SBA, aims to gather booksellers, distributors, and publishers to discuss industry issues, forge partnerships, and explore new business opportunities.
A Platform for Industry Dialogue
The conference, set to take place at the Expo Centre Sharjah, signifies SBA’s commitment to nurturing the publishing industry. Preceding the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, the conference will feature keynote speeches, roundtables, and workshops led by industry experts, focusing on market challenges, digital advancements, and sector trends.
Advancing the Publishing Ecosystem
Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, CEO of SBA, emphasized the conference’s alignment with Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi’s vision to elevate Sharjah as a global cultural hub. Al Ameri urged industry professionals to leverage the event’s opportunities, underscoring SBA’s dedication to supporting the Arab cultural initiative and fostering global engagement.
The inaugural edition of the conference, held in 2022, brought together industry stakeholders and facilitated discussions on book sales, distribution, and reader engagement.
