Sensex and Nifty Close Higher, Mahindra & Mahindra Leads Gains

The Sensex traded within a range before closing 670.69 points higher at 73,663.72, while the Nifty ended up 203.30 points at 22,403.85 after fluctuating throughout the day.

Maruti Suzuki India, SBI, and Tata Motors were among the Sensex losers, while Mahindra & Mahindra and Bharti Airtel led the gains. On the Nifty, Maruti Suzuki India and SBI were top losers, with Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Consumer Products as top gainers.

BSE MidCap rose by 1.07%, BSE SmallCap climbed 0.85%. Financial Services, IT, and Media sectors saw gains, while PSU Bank index lagged. In corporate news, Mahindra & Mahindra reported a 32% YoY rise in net profit, while Hindustan Aeronautics and Gail India also posted strong results.
