
Schools in Jammu Division to Remain Closed on September 6, Reopen for Staff from September 8
Jammu, Sept 6: The Directorate of School Education Jammu has issued fresh instructions regarding the reopening of schools and resumption of classwork. According to the order, all government and private schools across Jammu will remain closed on September 6, 2025, in continuation of the earlier directive issued on May 3, 2025.
The order, signed by Director School Education Jammu, Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, states that all Heads of Institutions (HoIs) and staff members are required to report for duty from September 8, 2025. Institutions have been directed to conduct a comprehensive security and safety audit of school buildings before reopening for students.
Further, HoIs have been asked to ensure the readiness of schools to resume offline teaching and take appropriate decisions regarding the commencement of classes from September 10, 2025. Chief Education Officers (CEOs) have been instructed to closely monitor daily activities and submit detailed reports to the Directorate.
The Directorate emphasized that all concerned officials must strictly comply with the directions in both letter and spirit. The order has also been circulated to senior officials, including the School Education Department in Srinagar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Deputy Commissioners, Chief Education Officers, and other stakeholders for necessary action.
