Samsung Launches Galaxy XCover 7: Rugged, Enterprise-Focused, and Feature-Rich
The Samsung Galaxy XCover 7, a rugged phone with a removable battery, made its global debut last month and is now officially launched in India as of Tuesday, February 6. This South Korean tech giant’s device comes in two variants – the Standard Edition and the Enterprise Edition, both now available in the Indian market.
Built to withstand tough conditions, the Galaxy XCover 7 boasts an IP68-certified design and MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability. Equipped with a single 50-megapixel rear camera, the device runs on a robust 4,050mAh battery. Samsung claims that the Galaxy XCover 7 is their first smartphone specifically designed for enterprise use in India.
In terms of pricing, the Standard Edition of the Samsung Galaxy XCover 7 is priced at Rs. 27,208, while the Enterprise Edition is slightly higher at Rs. 27,530. Both editions come with a 6GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration. The Standard Edition offers a one-year warranty, while the Enterprise Edition extends it to a two-year warranty. Corporate and institutional customers can conveniently purchase the phone through Samsung.com and the online EPP portal. Additionally, the Galaxy XCover 7 Enterprise Edition includes a complimentary 12-month Knox Suite subscription.
As for specifications, the dual SIM (SIM embedded SIM) Samsung Galaxy XCover 7 operates on Android 14 and features a 6.6-inch full-HD TFT display with a 60Hz refresh rate and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display incorporates Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for added protection. Powering the device is an octa-core 6nm processor (with an undisclosed model) paired with 6GB of RAM, expected to be a MediaTek Dimensity 6100 SoC.
The camera setup includes a 50-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 5-megapixel front shooter. The phone comes with 128GB of onboard storage, expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card slot.
Connectivity options on the Galaxy XCover 7 are diverse, featuring 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, USB Type-C port with Pogo pin, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The phone is equipped with various sensors, including an accelerometer, proximity sensor, geomagnetic sensor, light sensor, and gyro sensor. Additional features include face recognition for authentication, an XCover Key that can be programmed for various tasks, and speakers enhanced with Dolby Atmos sound technology.
