Samba Police Worked Out Theft Case; Apprehended 4 Accused

Samba, February 21: Samba Police has worked out a theft case registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana, apprehended four accused and recovered stolen items worth rupees seven lakhs approximately from their possession.

On 15.02.2025, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Bari Brahaman by one Ganesh Kumar Sharma S/o Puran Chand R/o Palli tehsil Bari Brahmana district Samba regarding theft of all golden and silver ornaments from his house.

Acting over the complaint, a case FIR No. 27/2025 U/S 331(4)/ 305 3(5)/ 317(2) BNS was registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana and investigation started.

Samba Police Nabbed Drug Peddler

During the course of investigation, a police team headed by SHO PS Bari Brahmana under the supervision of ASP SDPO Bari Brahmana and under the overall supervision of SSP Samba after relentless efforts and other technical aids, has rounded up three suspects who upon sustained questioning confessed their involvement in the instant case. The apprehended accused have been identified as Rajneesh Sharma S/o Ranjeev Sharma R/o Palli Bari Brahmana, Goutam Sharma S/o Ashok Kumar R/o Palli Bari Brahmana and one more.

During further questioning, the accused persons disclosed the name of another person, a Goldsmith, namely Aryan Vaid S/o Rajesh Vaid R/o Vijaypur who was the receiver of the stolen property. Accordingly, Police arrested the said goldsmith.

On the disclosure of all the accused persons, Golden ornaments weighing 47.180 grams, silver ornaments weighing 230 grams and cash of Rs.269230.00 making a total of Rs.7 lacs approximately recovered from their possession.

Further investigation of the case is going on.
