Sachin Pilot Emphasizes United Front for Rajasthan Assembly Polls.
Congress Party’s Unified Stand
Congress leader Sachin Pilot has reaffirmed the party’s commitment to contesting the upcoming Rajasthan assembly elections with unity. He emphasized that the decision regarding the next government’s leadership would be made by the high command after consultations with the newly-elected MLAs.
Bucking the ‘Revolving Door’ Trend
Sachin Pilot expressed confidence in the Congress’s ability to break the ‘revolving door’ trend in Rajasthan politics. He stated that the party is completely united, with everyone focused on the common goal of retaining power in the desert state.
Collective Leadership Tradition
Sachin Pilot highlighted that the tradition of collective leadership has been a longstanding practice within the Congress, not only in Rajasthan but across the country. He explained that the party decides on the leader of the legislature party after winning the majority.
Leadership Decision Post Mandate
When asked about the party’s choice for the Chief Minister’s face, Sachin Pilot mentioned that leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Sonia Gandhi are guiding the party in Rajasthan. He emphasized that the focus should be on working effectively and unitedly to secure a majority. The actual leadership decision occurs after winning the mandate, with consultation between MLAs and the party’s leadership.
Sachin Pilot also addressed personal attacks made against him by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, stating that he maintains respect and restraint in public discourse to set a positive example for young people.
BJP’s Troubles in Rajasthan
Sachin Pilot claimed that the BJP in Rajasthan is in disarray and facing internal contradictions. He criticized the party for failing to fulfill its roles both as the ruling party at the Centre and as the opposition in Rajasthan. He also defended the state government’s handling of law and order issues, urging the BJP to focus on addressing atrocities against tribals and Dalits in other BJP-ruled states.
Confidence in Congress Victory
Sachin Pilot expressed confidence in the Congress’s ability to win elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh under the leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi. He cited the BJP’s absence from the ground in Rajasthan for four-and-a-half years as a reason why people do not trust the party.
