Realme 12 Series Teases Imminent Arrival with 5G Connectivity
Hints of the Realme 12 series launch have emerged, raising anticipation for the release of the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+. Recent sightings on the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) website have strongly indicated their impending arrival. The listings on TDRA for the models RMX3842 and RMX3840 showcase the exact monikers and confirm 5G connectivity for these handsets, aligning with previous sightings on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website.
While these sightings have sparked excitement, the TDRA listing refrained from divulging further details about the two upcoming phones, keeping enthusiasts curious about their specifications and features. Nevertheless, leaks from sources like Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station have indicated that both Realme 12 Pro models will house Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC. This revelation suggests an anticipated debut in the mid-range smartphone segment with an estimated price around CNY 2,000 (approximately Rs. 23,000).
Rumored specifications highlight the Realme 12 Pro+ sporting a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto camera, potentially offering an impressive 3x optical zoom. On the other hand, the Realme 12 Pro could boast a Sony IMX709 sensor, likely enabling 2x optical zoom.
Previously, the Realme 11 series made waves with models like Realme 11, Realme 11 Pro, and Realme 11 Pro+. These devices, launched in China last May and later in India, featured distinctive offerings. The series, powered by the Android 13-based Realme UI 4.0 custom skin, hosted a 5,000mAh battery. While the vanilla Realme 11 and Realme 11 Pro housed dual rear cameras, the Realme 11 Pro+ flaunted an impressive 200-megapixel triple rear camera setup. The Realme 11 relied on a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 5G SoC for its performance.
With the looming launch of the Realme 12 series, enthusiasts eagerly await official confirmations and further details about these highly anticipated smartphones.
