Ralun Milun Exhibition Empowers Young Women Entrepreneurs at Gold Room, Srinagar
The Ralun Milun exhibition, a two-day showcase featuring young women entrepreneurs with promising business ventures, concluded at the Gold Room of the Broadway Cinema complex in Sonwar, Srinagar. This event served as a platform for women to exhibit their entrepreneurial skills, fostering a supportive environment for both seasoned businesswomen and those embarking on startup endeavors.
The Gold Room buzzed with energy for two days as stalls from young women business owners adorned the space. Ayesha, a young entrepreneur from Illahi Bagh, shared her success story amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. With her family’s support, she ventured into the pickle business, specializing in crafting a diverse range of preservative-free pickles.
In Kashmir, numerous working women have chosen entrepreneurship over traditional 9-to-5 jobs due to dissatisfaction with inadequate pay and a desire for business ownership. Mariya Reshi, who left her teaching job at a missionary school in Srinagar, recounted her journey of selling pashmina and tosha shawls door to door. Today, she owns two boutiques and provides employment opportunities to other women.
The exhibition served as a networking space for women from different parts of Kashmir, allowing them to share ideas and build connections. This collaborative atmosphere not only promotes unity but also establishes a network of mutual support, laying the groundwork for future business endeavors.
Sana Javed, the organizer of Ralun Milun, emphasized the importance of providing platforms for the talented and ambitious women of Kashmir. She expressed her commitment to offering support through events like these, recognizing the incredible talent, intelligence, and aspirations of the women involved.
The Gold Room, known as an all-weather premier wedding and event destination, hosted this exclusive women-only event. It provided female entrepreneurs with an opportunity to showcase their products, unique services, and entrepreneurial skills. The event aimed to recognize and amplify women’s contributions across various fields, celebrating success and highlighting often-underrepresented voices.
Participants praised the organizers for creating a platform that not only celebrated success but also amplified the often-underrepresented voices across industries. Amit Amla, Director of Broadway Group, described The Gold Room as the perfect venue for dream weddings and events, combining luxury, convenience, and enchantment for a memorable celebration.
