Rahul Gandhi to Embark on Nyay Yatra Covering 14 States from East to West
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to embark on another extensive Yatra, named “Nyay Yatra,” starting January 14 from Imphal, Manipur, and concluding on March 20 in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
This Yatra, spanning 6,200 kilometers and traversing 14 states and 85 districts, aims to connect with the youth, women, and marginalized sections of society.
During a news conference in Delhi, Organisation Secretary KC Venugopal detailed the Yatra, highlighting Rahul Gandhi’s intention to engage directly with people along the route.
He mentioned that the decision to undertake this Yatra from East to West was influenced by the opinion of Congress workers on December 21, aligning with the wishes of the Congress Working Committee (CWC).
The Nyay Yatra will commence under the guidance of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, focusing on interacting with people at various stops.
The journey is strategically planned to coincide with the buildup to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, intending to connect deeply with citizens in diverse states governed by various political parties.
This initiative follows the previous “Bharat Jodo Yatra,” led by Rahul Gandhi, which covered 3,970 kilometers across 12 states and two Union territories, concluding in Srinagar on January 30, 2023.
The impact of the earlier Yatra was observed during elections in Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh, where the Congress witnessed a notable surge in its strike rate and vote share.
Notably, in Karnataka, the Yatra covered 511 kilometers across 22 days, contributing significantly to the Congress’s improved performance.
Rahul Gandhi’s extensive engagement during these Yatras has proven to be influential in shaping public opinion and garnering support for the Congress party.
