Rahul Gandhi Accuses Modi Government of Neglecting Vacant Posts
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticized the Narendra Modi government on Monday, accusing it of neglecting vacant job positions. He emphasized the INDIA bloc’s commitment to opening doors for youth employment.
In a post on X in Hindi, Gandhi asserted, “Narendra Modi’s intention is not to provide employment. He is not only failing to create new posts but also neglecting the existing vacancies in the central government.”

Gandhi highlighted the concerning statistics presented by the central government in Parliament, revealing 9,64,000 vacant posts across 78 departments. Notably, key departments such as railways, home ministry, and defence ministry face substantial staff shortages.

“If we consider the data presented by the central government in Parliament, then 9,64,000 posts are vacant in 78 departments. If we look at important departments only, 2.93 lakh posts are vacant in the railways, 1.43 lakh in the home ministry, and 2.64 lakh in the defence ministry,” Gandhi stated.

Gandhi posed critical questions to the central government, demanding explanations for the more than 30% vacancy rate in 15 major departments. He also questioned the large number of crucial positions remaining unfilled in the prime minister’s office.
“Why are a large number of very important posts vacant in the office of the prime minister, who is carrying a ‘bag of false guarantees’?” Gandhi questioned, seeking accountability from the government.

Gandhi accused the BJP government of viewing permanent jobs as a burden and promoting a contract system lacking security and respect. He expressed concern about the government’s continuous endorsement of a system that offers neither stability nor dignity to employees.
“The vacant posts are the right of the youth of the country, and we have prepared a concrete plan to fill them. INDIA’s (bloc) resolve is that we will open closed doors of jobs for the youth,” Gandhi asserted.
