Pulwama Police Nabs 4 Drug Peddlers, Seizes Contraband

May 02: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Pulwama Police have arrested 04 drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession. A police party of Police Station Pulwama during patrolling at Chatapora near industrial Estate intercepted 03 suspicious persons who were on motorcycle bearing Reg. No. JK 02 BT 3985.

During search Police party was able to recover 370 grams of Charas like contraband substance from their possession. They have been identified as Abrar Ahmad Yatoo S/O Gh Nabi Yatoo R/0 Rajpora , Hilal Ahmad Laway S/O Gh Mohammad Laway R/0 Monchward Keller and Zeeshan Farooq S/O Farooq Ahmad Chat R/o Chatapora Pulwama .

Accordingly case FIR no. 83/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation set into motion. The arrested accused persons during investigation on their disclosure one more accused namely Ab Rashid Mir S/O Ali Mohammad Mir R/O Batapora Naina has been arrested and on disclosure 650 gms Charas like substance in solid form and 1.6 Kg contraband substance apparently charas powder were recovered .

Further investigation in the instant case is going on. Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
