PSA Detention Case of Mehraj Malik: Next Hearing on Nov 07, as Govt Seeks Additional Time to File Report

The Jammu and Kashmir & Ladakh High Court has scheduled November 7, 2025, as the next hearing date for the PSA detention case of MLA Doda Mehraj Malik.

According to sources, the case will be re-heard on November 7, 2025, when the Union Territory government is expected to submit its reply regarding the PSA detention of MLA Mehraj Malik.

The government has sought additional time to file its reply. It is being represented by Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi and Additional Advocate General Monika Kohli, while Senior Advocate Rahul Pant, Advocate Zulkernain Choudhary, Advocate Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed, Advocate Appu Singh Salathia, Advocate Zafar Iqbal Khan, and others are representing MLA Mehraj Malik. He was detained under the Public Safety Act by the Deputy Commissioner of Doda and is currently lodged in Kathua Jail.

Another petition has come to the notice of the court, in which MLA Mehraj Malik has requested permission to participate in the upcoming Rajya Sabha election and the Legislative Assembly session commencing from November 23, 2025.

The government intends to file objections, if any, on October 18, when this petition will be heard again.
