Residents of Laddan, located in the Udhampur District, have voiced their grievances today in a demonstration aimed at drawing attention to the Education Department and the District administration. Their protest centers on the inadequate provision of classrooms and infrastructure at the Government High School Laddan, situated within Zone Jib of the Udhampur District.
The protesting villagers have put forth allegations that the Government High School Laddan is operating within a structure that poses significant safety concerns. The building is reported to be in a dilapidated state, with visible cracks in the classroom walls, raising apprehensions about the students’ safety. This risk is particularly pronounced during rainy days, as the structural integrity of the building is believed to be on the verge of collapsing.

Surprisingly, even though the Education Department had officially declared the school building as unsafe several years ago, no efforts have been made to construct a new, safer facility for the students. The reasons behind this lack of action remain a mystery to the concerned villagers.
Currently, the school accommodates approximately 142 students, and it is evident that there is a pressing need for additional classrooms and improved infrastructure to ensure a conducive learning environment for these young learners.
