Police Solve Hit-and-Run Case in Bandipora Within Hours, Accused Arrested

Srinagar: Bandipora police swiftly solved a hit-and-run case within hours on Monday after a tragic incident in Saderkot Bala. The incident occurred when a man, identified as Abdul Majeed Dar, son of Habibullah Dar, was struck by a vehicle near Bunpora, Saderkot Bala.
The vehicle, a Tata mobile, fled the scene immediately after hitting the victim. The critically injured Dar was rushed to the Community Health Center (CHC) Hajin for treatment. Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries.
Upon receiving information about the hit-and-run, the police post in Sumbal immediately registered a case under relevant sections of law, including FIR No 155/2024 under sections 125 and 281 BNS. The police launched an investigation to track down the culprit involved in this tragic incident.
Thanks to the dedicated and strenuous efforts of the police, the driver responsible for the hit-and-run was quickly identified as Bilal Ahmad Dar, son of Zahoor Ahmad Dar, a resident of Saderkot Bala. The police acted swiftly to apprehend Bilal Ahmad Dar, bringing him into custody.
In addition to the arrest, the police also recovered and seized the vehicle involved in the incident, bearing registration number JK015B 1892.
The case is currently under investigation as the police continue to gather evidence and ensure that justice is served for the victim, Abdul Majeed Dar.
