PM Modi Hosts Special Dinner for G20 Summit Heroes
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a heartwarming gesture of gratitude, is set to host a special dinner for the unsung heroes of the G20 Summit in New Delhi. This gathering is a sincere effort to acknowledge and celebrate the tireless contributions of those who played a pivotal role in making the summit an outstanding success. Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora has taken the lead in identifying and recognizing these deserving individuals.
Honoring Excellence: Delhi Police’s Finest
Sources within the Delhi Police force reveal that Commissioner Sanjay Arora has embarked on the noble task of compiling a comprehensive list of exceptional personnel hailing from every district, ranging from dedicated constables to diligent inspectors. These 450 remarkable individuals are poised to join Mr. Arora in sharing an exclusive dinner with the Prime Minister at the iconic Bharat Mandapam, the very venue that witnessed the historic G20 Summit.
A Tradition of Recognition
This is not the first time Prime Minister Modi has chosen to acknowledge the unsung heroes behind major accomplishments. In May, ahead of the inauguration of the new Parliament Building, he personally honored the diligent laborers whose unwavering dedication was instrumental in its construction.
Delhi Police: Guardians of the G20 Summit
The challenges faced by the Delhi Police were formidable, both in the lead-up to and during the summit, which marked one of the largest gatherings of world leaders in recent memory. Their responsibilities extended beyond conventional security measures; they also operated under a shroud of secrecy, with the Special Protection Group and Delhi Police personnel employing code words to ensure the safety and privacy of the dignitaries.
The ITC Maurya Sheraton, where U.S. President Joe Biden resided, assumed the covert identity of ‘Pandora,’ while ‘Samara’ discreetly concealed the Shangri-La, housing UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his spouse, Akshata Murthy. Even the places visited by the leaders were given aliases, with ‘Rudpur’ standing in for Rajghat and ‘Niketan’ cleverly denoting Pragati Maidan, the central hub of the summit.
