    Pakistan Supreme Court Orders Imran Khan’s Transfer to Hospital Amid Health Concerns

    ISLAMABAD, Aug 18, 2026 [VoM News]: The Pakistani Supreme Court orders to move former PM Imran Khan, from his present place in jail to a private hospital, after some major and undeniable reports of his concerning health have started coming up.

    As per PTI spokesmen Naeem Haider Panjutha, a written order was issued by the Chief Justice of the apex court, stating Khan to be transferred to the Shifa International Hospital, Pakistan within 48 hours of the order, while it said he should be moved after September 16, to that private facility, to continue there until further notice, or doctor’s advice. Khan’s weekly family meeting have been allowed by the judges during his stay at the facility.

    A medical board would be able to evaluate Khan’s symptoms, with Khan’s own sister and doctor Dr. Uzma Khan being on the medical board set up. The doctors also asked the lawyers of Khan, or his family to ensure not sharing of his reports to media people nor to use his issue for any politics.

    The convicted Khan, 73, is confined to the walls of Adiala Jail from August 2023, a series of cases filed against him, where he pleaded not guilty, claiming that all cases were politically motivated ones. However, his family and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have shown much concern over the welfare and his deterioration. His legal representative has stated before that he has had partial loss of sight. Former President Arif Alvi stated to have received his reports which looked alarming due to the concerns of severe anxiety, palpitations, and hypertension.PTI representatives rejoiced in the move stating it was a little delayed, and wishing Khan not to step out till the satisfactory doctors examination.

    Khan has faced various difficulties after being dismissed from his office, in April 2022, even though the charges raised against him have continued, even if they’ve been annulled.
